There's everything from the restaurant that only accepts black tie
and have dishes with prices that reach into the triple digits,
to cruises that last only a day.
It's beautiful, particularly at night
when everything is lit up, or just after it rains and the harbor's waters turn
to a brilliant green hue and seem to be wiped clean of any pollutants.
But that's just the Inner Harbor.
One only needs to cross the street before the reality of what Baltimore is becomes apparent.
New York City and Los Angeles can't hold a candle to the violent crime rate, let alone
when the statistics are broken down into categories like arson and homicide.
This is a place where drug dealers don't just blow smoke when they aren't paid back,
where the color of the bandana in a pocket means something potentially lethal,
and being alone on the streets at night is suicide.
